When you buy a PPM Series mixer at Sweetwater, you can be sure
you're getting a piece of gear that's in peak condition. Why? Because
Mackie sends them through the pro audio equivalent of boot camp. They
leave them out in the hot sun for hours, spill stuff on them, and drop
them from high places. They abandon them at the top of Mount Raineer and
make them to find their own way home. And why do they do all this? So
that when these mixers are ready to go out into the big world they're
more than capable of doing what powered mixers are supposed to do: take
abuse and keep delivering great sound.
The PPM Series of powered
mixers are the latest and toughest graduates of Mackie's mixer boot
camp. Each of these mixers has a High-Current, Fast-Recovery power amp
inside it. In fact, the whole PPM Series is built to provide consistent,
powerful performance even in the most adverse conditions. It sounds
clean and strong even when it's been run all night into low impedances.
You get a massive toroid transformer and two huge storage capacitors
with 720 joules of energy storage capacity; your mixer keeps kickin'
even when energy is scarce. Other features include a break switch for
muting tracks in between sets without messing up sound levels, soft-knee
compression, rumble reduction and an EFX wide switch for precise
effects control. There's even an SCR crowbar circuit for speaker
protection.
The five individual mixers in the PPM Series come in
different configurations for a choice of mono or stereo and mic/line
channels. All of them come equipped with dual graphic equalizers and
built-in digital effects, and all of them deliver a level of performance
and endurance you've never believed possible before!
